I’ve been doing some more research on face recognition, Mastercard recently launched a programme for retailers to offer biometric payment methods, like facial recognition and fingerprint scanning. At the checkout, customers will be forced to authenticate their payment by showing their face or the palm of their hand instead of being allowed to pay by card or with cash.
Supermarkets will soon no longer accept cash or card payments, and instead, force customers to use their face or fingerprints to pay for essential items, which is moving us towards a dystopian cashless society.
