Mass Formation Psychosis takes shape in America [Video]

A psychosis is forming in America and in some other places around the world as the result of COVID-19’s ongoing mutations and waves, but more, because of the way the governments of these countries and their information media are driving the situation. For perhaps the first time in the COVID crisis, in the United States a tipping point has become evident, where many people have developed a “knee-jerk” sort of reaction to any sense of physical ailment – to go get a COVID-19 test.

Watch as our esteemed and very smart Dana Perino of Fox News talks about her own participation in this craziness without even realizing the shift in her own reactions that has happened:

DANA PERINO:  …I have two vaccines, I was boosted; I also got a flu shot. I spent the whole entire weekend of Christmas as sick as can be. I’ve taken two negative rapid tests, one positive test, and then a negative test in order to come back to work. This is no longer just about the unvaccinated; we are ALL suffering from it…

And, seen on social media from another friend:

“I have a very not exciting cold. Sinus congestion, cough, sore throat. All the fun stuff. I tested twice for Covid. Negative, despite the fact that we have an outbreak of it at work…”

We also have the reports over the last several days of massive flight cancellations and delays due to inability to test passengers for COVID before they board planes. Yet a third friend of mine was just delayed three days leaving the US because of this, and this happened in Florida, probably the freest state in the Union right now with regard to COVID regulations.

We have seen a truly massive spike in recognized infections, indeed, over one million positives were recorded in the United States on January 3rd. At the time of this writing (January 6th, 2:24am New York Time), Drudge is reporting 885,541 new positives.

But for contrast, in Russia yesterday, the country reported 15,772 new cases nationwide, and this is part of a long downtrend. Omicron has been detected here, but the overall response to it seems to be a yawn. It may spike here, of course, but it hasn’t yet:

The big thing that is different is that the reaction of most people I know in Russia (and most of the media outlets) is very minor. Some people are vaccinated, most are not, and the pro-vax screamers in the government are noted and summarily ignored by most people.

Consider the amount of panic that is in even Dana Perino’s talk – double vaxxed, boosted and FOUR tests in a very short period of time? The other person having a cold and taking a covid test twice? Why wasn’t once enough, or even better, what about “it’s a cold!” and leaving it at that?

Why the airport madness, the crime waves and so on? These are just not happening here. It is not the same.

There appears to be a definition for what we are seeing. The term “Mass Formation Psychosis” got brought into the public sphere over the weekend, and it does seem to adequately describe what we are seeing from otherwise reasonable people. Both Perino and the person on social media are very logical and reasonable people – not given to wild liberalism and emotional jags. Yet they are riding the waves of this the same as the insane liberals who are pushing much of this fear-laden agenda across the news networks.

This excellent report by Kim Iversen from The Hill explains the what and why of this phenomenon.

A Mass Formation Psychosis comes when what might be called “groupthink” is so strong that people begin doing horrific things, like mass suicides, or genocides, like in Nazi Germany or the early Communist pogroms. For the psychosis to occur, four conditions must be met:

a period of prolonged isolation
a withdrawal of things taken away from people that they used to enjoy
constant, free-floating anxiety, (pushed by the news media, for example)
there must be a single solution offered by an entity in authority.

As described in the video (these conditions are described starting at the [01:25] timestamp), it is clear that worldwide, the solution being pushed is vaccination. This is true – there are very few nations where the push is less insistent, and thankfully, Russia is one of these. But in the US, look at what Brandon is saying “the problem is that it is a pandemic of the unvaccinated” when it is very clearly not the case, as vaccinated people are picking up the coof and spreading it just as much as unvaccinated people.

Now, let’s look at Dana Perino’s response again, because she says something very remarkable, though the casual listener will miss its significance. This is at timestamp [02:21]

[Brandon] is not sitting outside waiting for three hours waiting for a test, and we’re depleting our small supply of tests by testing everybody, who don’t even need a test. The other thing that I am  going to take exception to is when he said that ‘this is a pandemic of the unvaccinated”…

And the kicker:

“… Now, I am vaccinated; I am glad I am, because I do feel protected from serious illness or hospitalization or even death. That said…”

and then the comment quoted above earlier about her own taking of FOUR tests.

This flies right in the face of her comment that many people don’t need to be tested. Yet, she, vaccinated, took four.

Notice also, her words “I am vaccinated; I am glad I am, because I do feel protected from serious illness or hospitalization or even death.”

I have heard this statement, almost verbatim, from so many people both in the media and personal friends alike. Anybody reading this piece might ask himself if he has also been hearing the same line. Again, almost word-for-word!

This suggests an absence of thought, an absence of discursive and critical thinking, but rather, groupthink. Even by conservatives, as Dana herself definitely is.

What is going on here? Why are so many people repeating this text like it is a mantra? And it is absolutely bizarre because it does not square with what is actually taking place. At this point, with “omicron” spreading like crazy, but apparently not causing crazy severe illness or death, there is a break between narrative and reality.

It is worth us beginning to think for ourselves.

I broke away from reporting news for a while because I realized that I was caught up in the storm as well, choosing my own confirmation bias and running with it. I probably still am, as my bias remains unchanged. But taking some time away from writing about COVID allowed me to shut my mouth and open my ears and eyes to see if maybe I got some things wrong. In some ways, I have been wrong. But my perspective on the virus and vaccination has apparently only grown sharper, for I was not able to recognize the hypnotic line mentioned above for what it was, even though I was hearing it all the time.

It is difficult to think for oneself, if that thought stream is outside the cultural norm around us. This is not an insult, it is a fact. It is the reason I am able to understand the doings in America more clearly while living in Russia, because my surrounding context is so different it allows me to see my home fishbowl a bit more “from the outside”, or “the big picture”. The fact that I am not absorbed in Russian society and culture beyond my family, who also is disinterested in popular culture here, gives a chance at clear perspective. When in the United States, I often feel the sense that I am “losing touch” with reality, because all the airwaves and speech around me is infused with the same thoughts up close.

For what it is worth, I see a problem. This Mass Formation Psychosis seems to have taken shape in my home country, and it is no wonder there are so many increasing problems. It is very sad to watch. Hopefully any Americans reading this piece will be able to make the exercise of standing “outside the stream” just a bit, so they can see it, recognize it in themselves and change direction.

Otherwise we are all lemmings, rushing for the cliff’s edge.

2021: the year of political bankruptcy of Lithuanian government

Ramūnas Karbauskis, Lithuanian businessman and politician, Chairman of the Farmers and Greens Union severely criticized  Lithuanian authorities’ actions.

The Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union (Lithuanian: LVŽS) is a green-conservative and agrarian political party in Lithuania. Following the 2020 parliamentary election, the LVŽS has been in opposition to the Šimonytė Cabinet.

Ramūnas Karbauskis did not even try to find softer words to describe on Facebook the results of the past year. He noted that “2021 Lithuanians will remember as the year of bankruptcy of government, the reluctance and inability to speak, which caused and deepened health and illegal migration crises.” According to him, 2021 is marked as “a scaling and segregation of society, demolition of diplomatic roads, cutting not only with one of the biggest economies in the world – China, but even with allies and neighbors.”

He paid attention to the fact, that current negative economic tendencies were the direct results of shortsighted government actions.

To his mind, “2021 will also be remembered as the year of emptying the state budget, gold government purchases, including golden houses for illegal migrants. The government actively pushed the decriminalization of drugs, the measures to promote the trade of alcohol. He also said, that the end of the year was crowned by the Belarusian fertilizer transit scandal, but Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis and Transport Minister Marius Skuodis responsible for it remained in their posts.

Thus, he is absolutely sure, that overall, this year has only strengthened the impression that “the government is not working for the Nation, not for its benefit.”

Ex-Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkas has also criticized the permission to open a Taiwanese representative office in Vilnius, saying that the conflict with China has led to huge loses. In his words, “that recognition should have, first, been done by the world, the major countries that have influence and their decision should provide results, not a small Lithuania.”

Today, when these loses have become more and more destructive for the Lithuanian economy, Ausrine Armonaite, the Economy and Innovation Minister says that “the European Union should be more united in its response to China’s pressure on Lithuania.” It turned out, that the mistake was made by Lithuania, but the EU for some reason should solve this problem. Once again Lithuanian authorities shift responsibility to others.

It seems as if Lithuanian officials have chosen the way of confrontation not only with China, but with neighbouring Russia and Belarus. Thus, they continue to increase defence budget of the country instead of allocating additional funds to economically fragile spheres. 2021 defence budget initially amounted to 1.028 billion euros. However, the government allocated additional 20.7 million euros during a budgetary review. 2022 defence budget will be increased to 1.298 billion euros.

The government has not learned how to place political accents correctly. Thus, the lack of coordination and common understanding in the ruling circles lead to political mistakes and the loss of the country’s image in the international arena. Lithuania’s behaviour has led to the shaping of ridiculous image as a country that takes on much more powers than it can afford.

Why Is Chicago More Dangerous Than Kabul?

For AK Nation, that is a rhetorical question – Chiraq is the capital of Blakistan, but for you here are the reasons.

The city is awash with illegal guns and drugs. Last year, seventy-six police officers were shot at or actually shot. Chicago has a massive problem with gangs, which are actually recruiting young boys. Last year, Chicago police arrested 133 people wearing ankle bracelets; there are currently thirty-three hundred people on electronic monitoring, including:

90 people charged with murder

40 with attempted murder

852 with aggravated gun possession

518 with being a felon in possession

23 with vehicular hijacking

7 with kidnapping

15 with aggravated kidnapping.

The next question is where did the above information come from? The answer is from Lori Lightfoot during a press conference/public meeting on January 4.

She didn’t blame Kim Foxx for all or any of the above, but…

Superintendent David Brown also spoke at the meeting; he added that in August, his officers took eight thousand guns off the streets, and another four thousand after the murder of Ella French.  Chicago has a population of around 2.7 million. How many larger cities have 23 carjackings in even a year, heck, how many countries have that many?

How is it conceivable that 90 people charged with murder are out on bail? Few people accused of murder are bailed, and with good reason.

Lightfoot made a lot of noise about stopping the gang violence and giving gang members a way out and up in the world. Someone else did that, in case you have forgotten, his name is Donald Trump. Rather than patronise blacks or even worse infantilise them, he understood that the pathway out of poverty and worse is education coupled with economic opportunity, which was why he guaranteed funding for historically black colleges and created enterprise zones. Lightfoot was one of countless politicians – black and white – who told him to take a hike; the people of Chicago and America, especially blue states, have been paying the price ever since.

Around the same time Lightfoot was speaking, a young woman sitting in a parked car was shot dead; it is unclear if she was the target or simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

No one has been executed in Illinois since 1999, and the death penalty was officially abolished by the Governor in 2011, but it is possible that if convicted the man and woman accused of murdering Marlene Rittmanic (pictured) on December 29 will be so sentenced. The time-serving female officer was shot execution style over a triviality.  Her partner was also shot. If this case is prosecuted at the federal level, the death penalty can be sought, buy it remains to be seen if it will be carried out. Only 11 people were executed in the United States last year, three by the Federal Government all in January. Of those three, Lisa Montgomery was formally sentenced to death the most recently, in April 2008.

Metropolis of 14 million confines unvaxxed to their homes

Violators in Philippines’ capital Manila can expect to be fined, jailed, or both

Authorities in the Philippines’ capital of Manila have banned the unvaccinated from leaving their homes save for buying essentials, going to work and doing exercise. Violators will be slapped with hefty fines, jail time, or both.

The decision, which affects around 14 million individuals living in Metro Manila, was announced on January 3. Under the new regulations, those who have not received two doses of Covid vaccine are to stay home, with only a few exemptions granted: buying necessities and seeking medical help, going to work, and doing outdoor exercise near their place of residence. Those working in an office have to take a Covid test every two weeks at their own expense. Such tests reportedly cost $100 or more in some cases.

Places now off-limits for the unvaccinated include cafés, restaurants, and shopping malls, as well as all modes of public transport. People found in breach of the rules can expect to be fined to the tune of up to $1,000 or jailed for as long as six months. Moreover, according to media reports, violators may face both a fine and jail time.

The restrictions will remain in place until at least January 15, though that period may be prolonged if the number of infections continues to rise.

Metro Manila authorities explained the need for tougher measures by saying that “Despite the availability of vaccines, there is a number of individuals who adamantly opt not to be vaccinated,” with the unvaccinated eventually ending up “unduly burdening the healthcare system to the detriment of public health.

Some Filipinos have taken to social media to vent their frustration at the authorities’ decision, with one user, for instance, branding the new regulations as a “pure act of discrimination.

Close to 70% of the metropolis’ residents are already vaccinated against Covid, yet the area saw a huge spike in cases last month, going from 24 on December 12 all the way to 2,600 on December 30.

The unvaccinated have also been targeted elsewhere in the world. For example, in Austria, those who have not been inoculated against Covid were put on lockdown in mid-November, with vaccination becoming mandatory for all from February 1. Violators can expect to face hefty fines. The German government is reportedly considering following suit, too.
