Schools across Leeds have been put on lockdown after ‘credible threat’ of violence against children and staff was made.
Scores of worried parents have been sent emails informing them a number of schools in the city have been put into a ‘soft’ lockdown and to be ‘vigilant’ when picking up their children.
It is unclear what this threat is at this time, but some parents have been told their children’s school has entered a ‘soft invacuation’, which means pupils will be kept inside all day, reports Leeds Live.
Gates, doors and windows have also been closed.
So far, schools in Hunslett Carr and Rothwell have received the warning.
